Merchants top Redcaps for 15th win

The Jamestown Miller Lite Merchants improved to 15-5 with a 7-4 win over the Mayville Redcaps on Wednesday in Fargo.

Jared Purdy collected two of the Merchants’ seven hits and drove in one. Bryan Erstad went 1 for 4, scored three times and had one RBI. Anthony Fontana had one hit and two RBIs and Tom Branca also drove in a pair.

Greg Lunski, the first of three Merchant pitchers, got the win. Josh Remer worked the final three innings to get the save.

The Merchants are back in action on July 7 against the Redcaps in Fargo. They host the Shady’s/Miller Lite Merchants tournament in Jamestown July 9-11.
