Wahpeton sprinter Ariel Edwards will continue her track career at Jamestown College after signing a letter of intent.
Edwards, who qualified for the state meet in each of the last four seasons, competed in the 100, 200, 400 (61.45) and 1600 relay for the Huskies.
She came highly recommended from JC 400 record holder Larry Lasch, who coached Edwards at Wahpeton.
“Ariel is someone who appears to have very good years ahead of her,” JC women’s coach Jim Clark said. “She was running the best times of her high school career at the end of her senior season.”
Edwards was Wahpeton’s Most Valuable Sprinter as a junior and senior.
“Ariel is an engaging young lady with a lot on the ball. I really enjoyed her visit to Jamestown College and very much look forward to working with her as a member of the Jimmie track & field team.”
She is the daughter of Janet Danks and Dan Edwards.
