David Tahran, 68, Jamestown, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at his home. Mr. Tahran was born Feb. 16, 1942, at Jamestown, the son of Gottlieb and Kathryn (Lang) Tahran.

Mr. Tahran was born Feb. 16, 1942, at Jamestown, the son of Gottlieb and Kathryn (Lang) Tahran. He received his elementary education in Jamestown. He graduated from Minot (N.D.) High School in 1960, and attended Minot State University, Minot. He moved to Jamestown and two years later moved to Lansing, Mich., where he worked in automobile factories. He later worked for Mr. Sharp Saw Sharpening Centers as a design engineer. He then moved to Bismarck, N.D., in 1969 to work as a design engineer at Andre Industries. He returned to Jamestown in 1973. He and his brother, Paul, started Tahran Manufacturing which later became Equipment Distributors. He married Rebica Delos Santos on Sept. 10, 2005, at Jamestown. He had been semi-retired since 2005.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Trone, Ashburn, Va.; a brother, Paul, Jamestown; and a sister, Caroline Torres, Pensacola, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clayton.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, First Church of the Nazarene, Jamestown, with the Rev. Richard Reynolds and Pastor Bryce Tahran officiating.
Prayer service: 7 p.m. Sunday, Haut Funeral Homes, Jamestown.
Visitation: 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
