BISMARCK (AP) — Seven Wells Fargo Financial locations in the Dakotas will close as part of company restructuring.

North Dakota sites in Bismarck, Minot, Fargo and Grand Forks and South Dakota sites in Sioux Falls, Aberdeen and Rapid City will be among 638 independent consumer finance offices closed around the country.

Wells Fargo & Co. says it’s laying off 3,800 employees over the next year as part of a restructuring of its consumer finance unit.

The San Francisco-based bank is consolidating Wells Fargo Financial into its community banking network.

Company officials estimate that each of the Dakotas locations that are closing has about half a dozen employees. They can apply for jobs at other Wells Fargo businesses.
