No damage reported in grass fire in Jamestown

The Jamestown Fire Department was called out at 10:59 a.m. Sunday to a grass fire near 324 Third Ave. S.W.

The Jamestown Fire Department was called out at 10:59 a.m. Sunday to a grass fire near 324 Third Ave. S.W.

According to Sgt. Ed Holzworth, Law Enforcement Center shift commander, fireworks caused the small grass fire, which threatened an Otter Tail Power Co. electrical box. Firefighters arrived at 11:03 a.m., he said, but police officers had already “stamped it out.” Firefighters doused the area with water and left the scene at 11:11.

There was no damage.
