Guler leads NR-S past Cando

Stephen Guler fanned eight Cando batters in a complete-game effort and went 2 for 4 at the plate as New Rockford-Sheyenne notched a section victory on Monday, 6-5.

Guler held Cando to five hits as the Black Sox scored all six of their runs in the first two innings. Guler’s battery mate, Clay Heinley, went 2 for 3 in the win for the Black Sox, who play at Velva on Wednesday.

Jake Hagler had four of Cando’s five hits.
