Child dies after being found in motel pool

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Authorities in Grand Forks say a 4-year-old boy has died after being pulled from a motel swimming pool.

Grand Forks Police Lt. Rahn Farder says emergency crews were called to the Budget Inn Express on Saturday about reports of a possible drowning.

Police say officials gave first aid at the scene before Tayton Fitterer of Fargo was transported to Altru Hospital. He was later transferred to Merit Care Hospital in Fargo, where he died Monday night.
