LaMoure, Ellendale youth teams advance

An eighth-grade boys’ basketball team from LaMoure and eighth-grade girls’ basketball team from Ellendale will play in the first annual Great Four-State Youth Basketball Championships at the Target Center in Minneapolis.

An eighth-grade boys’ basketball team from LaMoure and eighth-grade girls’ basketball team from Ellendale will play in the first annual Great Four-State Youth Basketball Championships at the Target Center in Minneapolis.

Teams from North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota and Iowa will compete in the tournament. The LaMoure and Ellendale teams were the runners-up from North Dakota. Rugby (boys) and New Town (girls) were the state champions.

Games start at 9 a.m. Saturday. The semifinal and championship games will be played on the Target Center floor in advance of the Minnesota Lynx and Phoenix Mercury WNBA game at 7 p.m.
