One dead after car hits logging truck in northwest Minnesota

A driver was killed early today when a car struck a logging truck in Lake of the Woods County in northern Minnesota.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 1992 Geo Prizm was traveling eastbound on County Road 8 when it struck a Ford Semi-trailer logging truck northbound on County Road 2.
The driver of the Prizm was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene, the patrol said. The victim’s name will be released later Thursday, the patrol said.
The driver of the logging truck, Bertil Dahl, 70, was not injured.
The Lake of the Woods Sheriff’s Office and the Roseau County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the accident, which remains under investigation.
