CASSELTON, N.D. (AP) — Lifeguards who rescued a drowning boy at a Casselton swimming pool are being hailed as heroes.

The Minn-Kota chapter of the American Red Cross presented medallions to the lifeguards on Friday.

They’re credited with saving 6-year-old Ben Metzger, who was pulled from the deep end of the pool Wednesday afternoon after being reported missing by his baby sitter. Lifeguards and two nurses at the pool gave the boy CPR.
