GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — The University of North Dakota has named a new director for the medical school's Center for Rural Health.
L. Gary Hart was director of the Rural Health Office at the University of Arizona in Tucson. UND medical school dean Joshua Wynne says he is a nationally recognized expert in rural health care delivery, with particular expertise in health care work force issues.
Hart succeeds Mary Wakefield, who left the post early last year to take a job with President Barack Obama's administration as head of the Health Resource and Services Administration.
