The Jamestown Regional Airport will be conducting a full-scale emergency exercise at the Jamestown Airport at 6:30 p.m. Monday. This exercise will test the airport’s emergency plan as well as those agencies that would respond in the event of an actual aviation incident or accident.

A pre-staging area will be set up at the Jamestown High School for those helping with the exercise. Artificial smoke will be used to help make the exercise as realistic as possible. First responders will be responding with lights and possible sirens. The exercise will last approximately two hours and will be conducted unless there are severe weather conditions.

The airport asks that the general public avoid parking on nearby roadways. Jamestown Hospital will be participating and exterior doors will be locked for a period of time. Patients, visitors and Wellness Center participants are encouraged to come to either the front lobby entrance or emergency department entrance where a staff member can assist them in entering the building. All normal traffic rules will be followed during this exercise.
