Charges dismissed in fatal cement truck crash

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A judge has dismissed charges against a Bismarck woman accused of causing a fatal crash because she might have had a neurological problem that contributed to the accident.

Forty-four-year-old Mary Greff was charged with manslaughter and reckless endangerment last November in the Sept. 26, 2009, crash involving her cement truck.

Greff was accused of falling asleep while driving on U.S. Highway 83 and hitting Jeffrey Burgess's pickup truck, killing him, injuring two of his passengers and endangering other drivers.

The prosecution's motion to dismiss the charges says Greff has a history of epileptic-type seizures.
