N.D. network gets $10.8M in stimulus money

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Dakota Carrier Network is getting $10.8 million in federal stimulus money to expand broadband services in North Dakota.

The White House says the award has more than $4.6 million in matching contributions and will benefit as many as 6,400 people and 600 businesses.

It is part of $1.8 billion being doled out to nearly 100 projects in 37 states.

Dakota Carrier Network was created in 1996 by 15 independent rural telecommunications companies.
