Judge sets evidence timeline in large N.D. drug bust

A judge has given a state agency two weeks to produce evidence in the case of two West Coast men accused of possessing 50 pounds of marijuana in North Dakota.

DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) — A judge has given a state agency two weeks to produce evidence in the case of two West Coast men accused of possessing 50 pounds of marijuana in North Dakota.

Arturas Teras of Van Nuys, Calif., and Donatas Jasiulionis of Seattle are alleged to have been traveling from Washington state to Chicago last November when a North Dakota Highway Patrol trooper stopped them for speeding and a drug-sniffing dog found the marijuana.

Jasiulionis's attorney, Kelly Armstrong, says he has not received evidence from the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Stark County State's Attorney Tom Henning says BCI is backed up.

Southwest District Judge William Herauf said Monday that two hearings for the men had already been rescheduled and he didn't want to have to reschedule again.
