Jamestown’s Laura Kraft, Joe Jensen and Jamestown College’s Shannon Fee were honored as Athletes of the Week by the Jamestown Optimist Club.
Kraft, a senior golfer on the Blue Jays’ girls golf team, won the Lifetime Eyecare Associates East-West Classic at Jamestown Country Club earlier in the month. Not only did she clear the field by 12 strokes, but she did it with a two-day tournament-record score of 142.
She followed up with another victory, her 14th of her career, at the Mandan Invitational at Prairie West Golf Course with a score of 74.
Jensen, a junior runner on the Jamestown boys’ cross country team, placed 55th out of 137 runners in the varsity boys division of the Orriginals Invitational in Jamestown.
Jensen was the top Blue Jay boys runner and helped lead the team to a 14th place finish in the 24-team field.
Fee, a senior native of Williston, had 17 kills and a kill percentage of .347 to go along with 18 blocks in five matches in Jamestown College’s season-opening trip to Montana.
