Allmer ranked fifth in coaches’ poll

Jamestown’s Alison Allmer was ranked fifth in the latest North Dakota cross country coaches’ poll.

The sophomore standout fell from previously being ranked second after finishing fifth in the Orriginals Invitational in Jamestown.

Ahead of Allmer is Minot’s Brecca Wahlund (1), Fargo Davies’ Tarin Lachowitzer (2), Grand Forks Central’s Jessica Lindsay (3) and Alex Backlund (4) of Fargo Shanley.

Bismarck heads the girls’ team poll while West Fargo and Dickinson follow in second and third, respectively. Bismarck Century came in fourth and Fargo Davies was voted fifth.

Bismarck also tops the boys’ team rankings and individual rankings.

The Demons were voted the top team in Class A while Jake Leingang, of Bismarck, was voted the top individual boys runner. Williston was voted second and Bismarck Century third in the team rankings, while Grand Forks Central and West Fargo trail in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Behind Leingang in the individual rankings is Grand Forks Red River’s Francis Mendee (2), Century’s Levi Sether (3), Central’s Shane Harlow (4) and Bismarck’s Austin Todd.
