DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) — St. Joseph’s Hospital has donated medical equipment to Dickinson High School for its medical terminology and health career classes.

The donation includes a hospital bed, a wheelchair and medical supplies such as gauze, syringes and needles.

Students will practice such maneuvers as transferring patients and taking vital signs.

Student Hannah Lindley told the Dickinson Press it also will give the students a better idea whether the medical field is something they want to pursue. She said someone might take a look at a needle and say, “this is not for me.”
