DUNSEITH, N.D. (AP) — Two special Sept. 11 ceremonies are planned Saturday at the International Peace Garden straddling the U.S.-Canadian border north of Dunseith.
An event at 11 a.m. will celebrate the opening of the Contemplative and Stroll Garden surrounding the memorial site that includes steel from the World Trade Center, which was destroyed by terrorists on Sept. 11, 2001.
The Minot Daily News says the second ceremony, beginning at 12:15 p.m., will dedicate the opening of a new Interpretive Center and Conservatory.
The 2,300-acre park is a symbol of peace between the U.S. and Canada.
