Ex-cop appeals sex conviction

LaMOURE, N.D. (AP) — A former LaMoure police officer is appealing his conviction for gross sexual imposition to the North Dakota Supreme Court. Kyle Mackey was sentenced last month to eight years in prison and was ordered to register as a sex offender.

LaMOURE, N.D. (AP) — A former LaMoure police officer is appealing his conviction for gross sexual imposition to the North Dakota Supreme Court.

Kyle Mackey was sentenced last month to eight years in prison and was ordered to register as a sex offender.

Mackey, who was 22 years old when he was charged last September, was accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl and sending sexually explicit text messages to her. He resigned as LaMoure’s lone police officer days before his arrest.
