GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A Grand Forks city report says the city has more money next year for community development projects such as housing assistance because of the sale of some city land and buildings.
The properties were purchased after the 1997 Red River flood under the Community Development Block Grant program. The Grand Forks Herald says proceeds from the sales have to go back into the program.
There's an extra $900,000 available because of the sales, doubling the total funds to $1.8 million. Another $346,000 is available in a program used to make housing more affordable for the poor.
