GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A spike in sales tax revenue for Grand Forks in September has put the city back on pace to match 2009 collections.

A release from the city says $1.5 million was collected for the month of July, which was tallied in September. That amount is the second highest collected this year and the most ever collected in September.

Finance director Saroj Jerath says the September collection nearly pushes the city's nine-month sales tax revenues to what was collected during the same period last year.
