BISMARCK (AP) — Tibetan Buddhist monks are making a visit to the University of Mary in Bismarck.
Officials said the monks’ visit Tuesday through Friday will emphasize the role of spirituality and religion in human societies, and trace what Benedictine values and those of other religious traditions have in common.
The Bismarck Tribune said the visit also is aimed at helping raise awareness of the culture of the Tibetan people and finding sponsors for the Tibetan Children’s Education Foundation.
The foundation is a nonprofit that supports Tibetan schools and school children in exile from their homeland.
