Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., announced Monday that three rural North Dakota school districts will soon receive computers though a Senate.
Conrad nominated Montpelier Public School, Cannon Ball Elementary School and Prairie View Elementary School to receive the equipment. A total of 25 personal computers will be delivered to the three schools.
“In order for our children to receive a 21st century education, it is vital that they learn using 21st century technology,” Conrad said in a press release. “These computers will offer North Dakota’s students greater access to information and teach them the computer literacy that is now an essential part of our economy and way of life.”
The Senate’s Computers for Schools program is an initiative that refurbishes surplus Senate computers for schools across the country. Each school will determine how it will use the computers.
