St. Paul’s United Methodist Church will begin training its third class of Stephen Ministers in October.

Stephen Ministers equip lay persons to provide one-on-one confidential Christian care to individuals in the congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.

The classes will provide 50 hours of training in care, listening, support and encouraging others. Ministers will develop their skills in providing emotional and spiritual care.

Afterward Stephen Ministers may be assigned to walk beside a person who is hurting, spending about an hour a week with that person, as long as there is a need.

Call the Rev. Dave at 252-3088, Sandie Sahr at 952-3319, or Carolgene Wolf at 489-3339 for more information.
