BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The Burleigh County State's Attorney's Office will determine whether to charge a man for allegedly shooting a neighbor's dog.
Burleigh County Sheriff's Major Les Witkowski told the Bismarck Tribune that a Wing woman report her neighbor had killed her dog Monday night. The 56-year-old woman said her dog was missing and other people told her that her neighbor, a 37-year-old man, had shot it.
The man told her he shot it in his front yard.
Witkowski says the man shot the dog once, injuring it, then shot it again to kill it.
A report was forwarded to the state's attorney. Witkowski says there is an ordinance in Wing prohibiting firing a gun within city limits.
