Brecca Wahlund of Minot and Jamestown’s Alison Allmer continue to be ranked 1-2 in the Class A girls’ cross country poll.

The two are likely headed for a pair of showdowns with the West Region meet nine days away on Oct. 9 at Tom O’Leary Golf Course in Bismarck.

The state meet will be a home game for Allmer as the Blue Jays host the event Oct. 23 at Hillcrest. Third-ranked Tarin Lachowitzer of Fargo Davies will likely be a factor then, too.

In the Class B girls’ poll Taylor Palmer of Griggs County Central continues to be ranked No. 2. Teammate Brittany Liljenquist is ninth. The Cougars are ranked fifth as a team.

New Town tops the ‘B’ boys’ poll. Bismarck (boys) and Fargo Davies (girls) continue to head the ‘A’ polls.
