OSHA cites potato plant for safety problems

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — The U.S. Department of Labor says it intends to fine a Grand Forks potato processing plant $59,000 for safety violations.
The Grand Forks Herald reports that the department's Occupational Safety and Health Administration cited J.R. Simplot for “one repeat and 12 serious workplace health and safety citations” at the Grand Forks plant. Simplot is based in Boise, Idaho.
Simplot spokeswoman Sue Richardson says the company had not received OSHA's report. But she says any safety issues will be addressed.
