Freedom Salute planned for soldiers who served in Kosovo

About 275 soldiers who served in Kosovo and their families will be formally honored at a ceremony planned for 3 p.m., Saturday at the Bismarck Civic Center.

About 275 soldiers who served in Kosovo and their families will be formally honored at a ceremony planned for 3 p.m., Saturday at the Bismarck Civic Center.

The Soldiers being honored served as part of the 141st Maneuver Enhancement Brigade and the 957th Liaison Monitoring Team.

The group mobilized in August 2009 and returned at separate times — in May 2010 and July 2010.

Gov. John Hoeven and Maj. Gen. David Sprynczynatyk, North Dakota adjutant general, will be among the speakers at the event which is open to the public.
