JHS Choir and Orchestra prepare for fall concert
The Jamestown High School Choir and Orchestra will be presenting their fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, in the high school theater. The concert is free and open to the public. The concert will include the 2010 Vocal Jazz Ensemble performing “Don’t Stop Believin’” and a string duet performed by seniors Laura Kraft and Matthew McIntyre.

The concert will include the 2010 Vocal Jazz Ensemble performing “Don’t Stop Believin’” and a string duet performed by seniors Laura Kraft and Matthew McIntyre.
The Jamestown High School Orchestra will perform “Processional” by Siennicki and “Sonatina” by Lichner. The High School Choir will perform various multicultural selections, including a Cameroon processional, “Loch Lomond” a Scottish folk song, “Plenty Good Room,” and African American spiritual, “Anthem” from the musical “Chess” which includes a patriotic sentiment, “America” from West Side Story, and “Give Us Hope,” a song dealing with concerns of children worldwide.
Sololists include Alec Nelson, Jocelyn Meidinger, Nathan Kopperud, Kraft, Megan Kapp, Savannah Voeltz, Beth Jensen, Brittany McIntyre, Nicholas Bercier, Jace Erickson, Drew Avans, Kayla Thoele, Myriah Koebernick and Abby Wenzel. A small featured ensemble includes Hannah Heilman, McKayla Orr, Jenna Reed and Russell Kostal.
Jennifer Michalenko directs the Jamestown High School Orchestra and Cheryl McIntyre directs the Jamestown High School Choir, assisted by Casey Behm, student teacher.
