Update: Fire department removes smoke from apartment

The Jamestown Fire Department was called out at about 7:40 p.m. Wednesday to an apartment at 1514 Sixth Ave. S.W., according to Lt. Robert Opp, supervisor in the Law Enforcement Communications Center.

The Jamestown Fire Department was called out at about 7:40 p.m. Wednesday to an apartment at 1514 Sixth Ave. S.W., according to Lt. Robert Opp, supervisor in the Law Enforcement Communications Center.

A small fire on a stove had been extinguished. However, the fire department was asked to remove smoke from the apartment. Firefighters were on the scene for about 15 minutes. There were no injuries or damage.
