BibleFest set at basilica Oct. 27

St. James Basilica is sponsoring an intergenerational BibleFest from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 27 in the Zebedee Center, 214 Fourth St. S.E., Jamestown. This two-hour intergenerational program is designed to show people of all ages that Scripture can be attractive, interesting, even fun to read and discuss. All are encouraged to come and learn creative ways to make the Bible a part of daily living.

BibleFest is a learning experience that:

* will enable a person and his/her family to break open the Word together;

* increases your biblical navigation skills;

* awaken or affirm your desire to make Scripture a part of your daily life;

* remove fear or apprehension about understanding Scripture;

* celebrate the beauty, power and gift of Scripture in living a life of faith.

The presenter for BibleFest is Leif Kehrwald. Kehrwald has worked in family ministry and faith formation on the local, regional and national levels for more than 30 years. Currently he serves as a project coordinator for Lifelong Faith Formation for the Center for Ministry Development. Kehrwald has published several books and numerous articles on family life, family ministry, marriage and youth ministry. His latest publication is “The Catholic Faith and Family Bible,” to which he served as general editor, published by Harper Catholic Bibles, a Division of Harper Collins Publishers, 2010. Kehrwald has taught courses on family ministry, parish partnership and family spirituality.
