LAS VEGAS (AP) — President Barack Obama has arrived in Las Vegas to rally Democrats and urge them to re-elect Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in the Nov. 2 election.

Reid is in a tight and closely watched campaign against tea party-backed Republican Sharron Angle.

Obama has spent much of the week campaigning for several West Coast Democrats in tough campaigns and whose re-election is crucial for the rest of Obama's agenda as president.

Earlier Friday, Obama addressed a rally at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles for Sen. Barbara Boxer, who is facing a strong challenge from Republican Carly Fiorina.

The president is on the third day of a four-day, five-state campaign swing.
