Letter to the editor: Approve Measure 1 to support county Extension

As you go to the voting booths on Nov. 2, I would like to encourage the voters of Stutsman County to vote “Yes” on Measure 1, which supports our Stutsman County Extension Service.

Over the years our family has benefitted in numerous ways from the services that Extension provides. Both of our children participated in 4-H and gained knowledge and confidence through the various projects they participated in. Our county agents are always available and willing to assist in any way to answer questions whether it be about gardening issues, food safety and nutrition issues, or issues that related to farming/ranching.

The children in Stutsman County have benefitted with the nutrition lessons that are taught by our Extension Service. This .50 mill levy is very modest and will relieve budget pressure on the general fund. This increase will support the Extension budget for a number of years. Please support this measure when you go to the polls on Nov. 2.
