County elects female commissioner
HILLSBORO, N.D. (AP) — Traill County has its first female county commissioner. The Grand Forks Herald reported that Gail Mooney of Cummings defeated incumbent Commissioner Ron Peterson of Buxton on Tuesday by a vote of 263 to 216.

The Grand Forks Herald reported that Gail Mooney of Cummings defeated incumbent Commissioner Ron Peterson of Buxton on Tuesday by a vote of 263 to 216.
In 2006, the two tied with 217 votes each, with Peterson winning in a coin flip.
Mooney operates a photography business in Cummings.
Traill County history dates back to 1875.
