COOPERSTOWN, N.D. (AP) — The Griggs County Commission is considering three potential projects to remedy mold and asbestos problems in the county courthouse in Cooperstown.

The options include remodeling, building an addition or building a new courthouse. The projects range in cost from $1.5 million to $5.4 million.

The Grand Forks Herald reports that the commission is facing a late January deadline to get preliminary designs from architects and to prioritize the projects to present to voters next June.

Four county social services workers have filed workers' compensation claims after being treated for health problems. One worker quit in June for health reasons.

The county has moved its sheriff and social services departments out of the courthouse and into mobile offices.
