TWIN BUTTES, N.D. (AP) — The school in Twin Buttes has dealt with two suspicious letters this year, one of which prompted an evacuation.
Cliff Whitman, director of Emergency Management and Homeland Security for the Three Affiliated Tribes, told the Minot Daily News that both letters were postmarked New York and had “off-the-wall writing.”
He said the first arrived in January and had a chemical smell. The school was evacuated, but testing at the state lab determined it was harmless.
The second letter arrived this week. It also is being tested.
