City engineer: Snow removal under way on emergency routes, will move into downtown and residential areas

Jamestown city street crews began working on snow emergency routes and arterials this morning, according to City Engineer Reed Schwartzkopf, and should move into the downtown area this evening.

Jamestown city street crews began working on snow emergency routes and arterials this morning, according to City Engineer Reed Schwartzkopf, and should move into the downtown area this evening.

Schwartzkopf said in a news release that the crews might begin in the downtown areas at about 11 a.m. this evening. The crews are expected to begin residential snow removal at about 11 a.m. Tuesday.

The release said snow-plowing operations might continue into Wednesday or be suspended, depending on how the weather turns out. Another release is expected Tuesday that will provide updates on snow removal.
