Helen Dungan, 90, New Rockford, N.D., died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, New Rockford. Helen Irene Wipperling was born July 17, 1920, in Randolf, Neb., the daughter of Fred and Freda (Thaden) Wipperling.

Helen Dungan, 90, New Rockford, N.D., died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, New Rockford.

Helen Irene Wipperling was born July 17, 1920, in Randolf, Neb., the daughter of Fred and Freda (Thaden) Wipperling. The family moved to a farm in Columbia Township, Eddy County, North Dakota, in 1921. She attended country school. She married Lawrence Dungan on Oct. 5, 1938, at New Rockford. They lived on a farm in the same area. They retired and moved to New Rockford. He died Sept. 13, 1994. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, New Rockford, and was active in Homemakers Club, Girls 4-H Club and her church groups. She enjoyed dancing, baking, sewing and traveling.

She is survived by a son, Richard (Karen), Mankato, Minn.; two daughters, Dorothy (Ken) Martens, Nicollet, Minn., and Conni Jo (Randy) Fugleberg, New Rockford; a sister, Fay Goodno, Woodbury, Minn.; a brother, Wilfred “Bud” (Bernice), Carrington, N.D.; a sister-in-law, Marliss Wipperling, Wadena, Minn.; a son-in-law, Joseph Troske, New Rockford; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Irene Troske; two brothers, Harley and Wendell; a brother-in-law, Paul Goodno; and two grandsons, Mark and Brian Troske.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, First Lutheran Church, New Rockford, with the Rev. Russ Christiansen officiating.

Prayer service: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford.

Visitation: Noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial: Prairie Home Cemetery, New Rockford.
