BISMARCK (AP) — Airline boardings at North Dakota’s eight commercial airports in October were up 9.8 percent over the previous year. Officials say the 68,489 boardings set a record for the month.

North Dakota Aeronautics Commission spokes-man Brad Fields said the states booming energy industry and visiting hunters helped bump the boarding numbers in October.
Minot had the biggest percentage increase in boardings in October, of more than 66 percent. Minot also had the most additional passengers, with 3,793 more boardings over the year.
Airports at Fargo and Jamestown recorded a drop in boardings over the year.
