Dickinson State receives grant for math program

DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) — Dickinson State University is receiving more than $600,000 to help improve teaching skills in math.

DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) — Dickinson State University is receiving more than $600,000 to help improve teaching skills in math.

The two-year Mathematics and Science Partnership grant is designed to show elementary and secondary teachers how to give students a better understanding of math, particularly algebra.

Dickinson State math and computer science professor Paul Johnson says teachers and college students will learn a variety of ways to teach math.

The college will begin offering training sessions on campus in March.
