Travel alert issued for northwest North Dakota

The North Dakota Department of Transportation has issued a travel alert for northwest North Dakota through Saturday.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation has issued a travel alert for northwest North Dakota through Saturday.

Conditions are such that motorists can still travel, but may experience scattered snow drifts and snow covered roads, creating icy conditions. Motorists are advised that snow and blowing snow is causing reduced visibility and drifting snow at structures and sheltered areas.

Cities affected by the alert include: Williston, Crosby, Watford City, New Town and surrounding areas.

In addition, snow plows have been pulled from the roads at this time in the New Town area due to reduced visibility. The plows will resume operation as visibility improves.
