Tuesday saw its share of accidents in and around in Jamestown, according to law enforcement officers.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol responded to the majority with five crashes on Interstate 94, one crash on State Highway 281 and 15 vehicles in the ditch from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. said Sgt. Mitch Rumple.

“The problem we’re seeing when vehicles go in the ditch is simply speed,” Rumple said. “People are going too fast for conditions.”

He recommended travelers prepare for longer travel times, slow down and concentrate on conditions.

Jamestown was not as bad as I-94, said Robert Opp, dispatch supervisor at the Law Enforcement Center.

The Jamestown Police Department responded to one crash in the city and the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office responded to one wreck in the country.
