Car, Empire Builder collide

Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari said the collision happened at about 4:50 p.m. Thursday, east of Havre in Blaine County. He said a car drove across the tracks, which were marked, and collided with the train.
Magliari said there was no significant damage and the train was delayed an hour and 15 minutes.
The sheriff’s office said the Montana Highway Patrol was handling the accident. There was no answer at the number for the district office.
Magliari said the train is called the Empire Builder and was headed east on the route that runs from Seattle and Portland, Ore., to Chicago.
