St. John’s plans holiday services

St. John’s Lutheran community of faith will be gathering for Christmas Eve candlelight services with Holy Communion at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. Friday. Special music will be provided at both services. During the 4:30 p.m. service, Matt Odin will be singing “O Holy Night.” Amy Batesole and Shar Gumke will be singing “Night of Silence/Silent Night” at the 6:30 p.m. service. The 4:30 p.m. service will be aired over radio station 600 AM later that evening at 8.

They will also have Christmas Day services with Holy Communion at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Sunday morning worship services at 9 and 11 a.m. will feature the Lesson and Carols of Christmas where those in attendance will hear the Christmas story and be singing familiar carols.

The congregation invites members of the community to worship with them and in proclaiming the birth of Christ. St. John’s Lutheran Church is located at 424 First Ave. S. There is a handicap entrance on the east side with double doors on ground level (elevator at entrance).
