Optimist Club cites athletes for awards
Brooke Lukach of Jamestown High School and Jamestown College’s Kayla Roemmich have been named Athletes of the Week by the Jamestown Optimist Club.
Brooke Lukach of Jamestown High School and Jamestown College’s Kayla Roemmich have been named Athletes of the Week by the Jamestown Optimist Club.
Lukach, a senior on the Blue Jay gymnastics team, placed first or second in all five events of the Christmas Quad meet Dec. 21. She won beam (8.9), vault (8.4) and all around (34.45), and placed second on the bars (8.35) and floor (8.8).
Roemmich, a sophomore from Bottineau, N.D., on the JC women’s basketball team, had 26 points and 14 rebounds in the Jimmies’ wins over Warner Southern (Fla.) and Webber International (Fla.) Dec. 17-18 in Florida.
