The Jamestown Fire Department’s hazardous materials team assisted with a fuel leak near Jamestown Tuesday.

The team was called out at about 6:30 p.m. to assist with a diesel leak on a semi truck located at mile marker 269 in the eastbound lane on Interstate 94, which is about 9 miles east of Jamestown.

Firefighters requested sand from the North Dakota Department of Transportation to absorb the diesel. Approximately 35 gallons leaked from the semi’s punctured saddle tank.

Firefighters were on the scene an hour and 20 minutes. There were no injuries.
