Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem lists the legislation among his priorities for the 2011 session. A spokeswoman for Stenehjem says his office has been working for several weeks on details for the planned legislation.
North Dakota is believed to be one of only a handful of states that has yet to pass legislation on bullying.
An attorney for the Fargo School District said earlier this month that a tentative out-of-court agreement has been reached with a former student over allegations that the student had been repeatedly bullied by classmates.
