BISMARCK (AP) — Former North Dakota U.S. Sen. Byron Dorgan says his future includes college teaching, lecturing, working with think tanks and helping to write two novels.
Dorgan has written two nonfiction books on trade and finance. He says he’s writing a novel with another person and hopes to publish it at year’s end. He called it an “eco-thriller” but he’s mum on details and the name of his co-author.
Dorgan said he’ll lecture at Georgetown and the University of North Dakota. He’ll work at a think tank on energy issues and serve as chairman of a new foundation to address the problems of American Indian youth.
Dorgan represented North Dakota in the U.S. Senate and House for 30 years. He didn’t seek re-election last year and left the Senate this week.
