Beginning Feb. 11, clients of the Anne Carlsen Center will participate in a new delivery service aimed at helping the community.

“Lien On Me – Delivery” will match an ACC client, student or staff member with a person in the community who needs groceries or other items delivered to a specific address.

Named after Thelma Lien, the first participant in this program, Lien On Me will provide the opportunity for ACC volunteers to learn how to shop for items, as well as follow a list and use money for a purchase. The recipient will get the convenience of having items delivered to their door at no additional cost.

“This program is a win-win for everyone,” said ACC Community Program Coordinator Laurie Skadsem. “The shopper will benefit by the opportunity to learn shopping skills and the recipient will benefit by having someone picking up and delivering their needed items. The social interaction that may evolve benefits both parties.”

The program will initially be offered in Jamestown, Fargo, Grand Forks and Cooperstown, but will grow as ACC begins serving clients in more areas.

If you are interested in being a participant in this program or know of someone who would benefit from this service, call 701-252-3850 (Jamestown), 701-757-4200 (Grand Forks) or 701-364-2663 (Fargo) for more information.
